The killer snails are here to stay
After so many years in the Danish nature, the natural leaching has ensured that those that now flood our gardens cope perfectly with our different seasons. In other words, they have adapted and settled in well. With no natural enemies, they have free rein.
Hunt snails with salt, scissors, spade or other tool
With one of the above methods, you quickly catch the snails you see, usually those out on the lawn. If you lift the branches/leaves of the plants in the flower bed instead, you will find a number of both large and tiny snails. Everyone eats equally voraciously!
The small ones can be as small as 5 mm! It is very difficult to find these small snails, even more difficult to kill them with any kind of tool. Snail bar is a good solution here!
What do snail eggs look like?
You can find snail eggs in the ground, under leaves, stones, etc. They look like lumps of large rum grains and are about 2-3 mm in diameter. From the beginning they are white to gradually change more and more to gray. Be careful not to confuse them with fertilizing houseplants.
How big are the killer snails when they hatch?
Previously, the snails were thought to be around 10mm when the eggs hatch.
Amateur research after cultivation, carried out by the company Gröna MatHilda, showed that they are as small as 5 mm! Since it was impossible to see from the eggs whether they were really killer snails, the snails were sent for analysis (species determination) to experts after they had been allowed to grow for a while.
Long-term control of killer snails
If you want to be effective, a long-term effort is required. Going out and cutting, decapitating, salting or otherwise killing individual snails are some common methods. Any method that involves hunting individuals helps a bit, but is probably mostly a consolation for the time being.
Snails eat and reproduce all the time, even when you are not out hunting. This applies not least to the rainy, windy and cold days when you choose not to or just take the short round. When you use the snail hanger together with an approved snail remedy, you fight the snails 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Just remember to refill the bar every now and then.
What funds must be used in the Snigelbaren?
Use snail agent, eg in the form of granules or similar. The snails will eat the remedy and subsequently crawl back into their nest and die. However, it is recommended that the agent NOT be spread into the environment or concentrated in piles on the ground. The box is then the ideal solution, as the product is protected from weather and wind and prevents birds and other animals from eating it.
4 quick tips
✔️ Range: As a very rough rule of thumb, you can expect a five-pack to be enough for a smaller townhouse plot, unless you have an unusually large number of plants.
✔️ In the warm compost: If the snails have got into the warm compost, you put a Snail Rod on top.
✔️ The kitchen garden: A kitchen garden is a smorgasbord for snails. Protect with auger bar(s) right from the start.
✔️ In the greenhouse: Even the greenhouse is exposed to snails. The bar protects the soil from the agent. A stone blocks the skaters' progress on hot days when the door is open.

How to use Snigelbaren®
1. Place the boxes along the dividing line. When the snail problem is reduced, move the bowls to the plants that the snails eat.
2. Distribute the boxes in the area you want to treat. The snails can often smell the agent from 2-3 meters away.
3. Always cover the top of the box with a large stone or similar so that animals or birds cannot move or open it.
4. Avoid placing the boxes on the lawn or in holes.
5. Top up with snail/insecticide when the bowl is empty.
6. Continuously check that openings and air holes are not blocked.
