Book pigs are a type of rat that lives in the ground like moles. The book pig differs from the mole in that it is a vegetarian. The marsh pig prefers to dig tunnels just below the surface and you can often see the outline of the tunnels. Start by leveling passages and holes. When you can see where the bog pig is making new holes/passes, you set the trap on top of a hole. Do not touch the trap with your hands, but use gloves so that the trap does not smell of people. An apple, carrots, etc. can be used as bait. Finally, cover the trap with a sack or tarpaulin. Before euthanizing an animal, you should perhaps consider whether a reintroduction in a place where the animal will not be harmed might be possible. (Does not apply to rats). In addition, reference is made to the regulations in force at all times in the Hunting Act and the Animal Protection Act.
