How the scarecrow works:
When an animal approaches the scarecrow, an infrared motion detector triggers ultrasonic emissions and flash, which frightens the animal and drives it away. The combination of ultrasound and flash makes the device significantly more effective.

Instructions for use:
Place the device at a height between 10 and 80 cm depending on the targeted animal. Adjust the frequency. Do not place the device where vehicles and people move around or in an area with many obstacles (trees, bushes, fences, etc.). Ensure that the property and common areas are kept clean and tidy.

Inserting batteries:
Garden Protector 4 father power from 4 D batteries LR20 1.5 V. Make sure to use good quality batteries for good utilization. When inserting the batteries, ensure that the slider under the photocell is set to OFF. Insert the 4 batteries and observe the polarity printed on the bottom of the device. As an optional extra, the device can be powered from an adapter (WKT052).

Function and application:
The device is equipped with an infrared detector that reacts to movement. The device then emits high-frequency sounds (ultrasound) that are hardly or not at all audible to humans, but are very audible to some animals. The animals in question are thereby confused: the others get used to them and then prefer them. At the same time, the flash lamp is switched on several times and also contributes to scaring the animal. This flash lamp can be activated (ON) or deactivated (OFF) using the button on the bottom of the device.

The registration works up to 13-14 meters.

As soon as the infrared cell detects a movement in its radiation field, the device emits for approx. 7 seconds of ultrasound, the frequency of which depends on the setting, and then resumes its previous function. The device will trigger again after 5 seconds, if this circuit is still detected, it will be repeated later.

The frequency to be chosen depends on the pest to be kept away. Choose between:

1 - 7: cats
2 - 7: dogs
3 - 7: foxes
4 - 7: house months
5 - 7: rabbits
6 - 7: herons

Note: 1: highest frequency (approx. 24 kHz), 7: lowest frequency (approx. 15 kHz).
Humans can hear up to 20 kHz. You may therefore hear a limited sound in certain settings.

Assembly, location and recommendations:
The device emits ultrasound in a horizontal plane in a given direction. Ideally, it should also be placed at the height of the pest to be driven away, with no obstacles between the device and the pest (the registration will be disturbed and the ultrasound will be blocked by the obstacle). To protect a large area or if the promise in the area to be protected is dense, several devices may be necessary. Let Garden Protector 4 work continuously to permanently keep pests at bay.

Note: the more the slider is turned to the right, the more the frequency is lowered and the more the coverage increases - up to a maximum of 200 m2. Some aged cats and dogs may have less sensitive hearing to high-frequency ultrasound (the more so as they have impaired hearing). In that case, it is necessary to turn the slider to the right to lower the frequency. A frequency of 4, 5, 6 or even 7 may be necessary for animals of these ages.

Garden Protector 4 is active right from the start, but it is necessary to wait 2 weeks for a permanent change in the pests' habits to be observed. You can also move the device to avoid getting used to it. Never place the ear against the Garden Protector 4. Keep out of the reach of children.

The life of the batteries depends on the number of activations of the device: if the device faces a place with high traffic, the batteries will have a shorter life than in a place with less traffic.

Be a good neighbor!

Garden Protector 4 solves problems caused by stray or free-ranging animals or wild animals. Avoid orienting the Garden Protector 4 towards a neighbour's garden or yard or towards a public area. The device is intended for use on the user's private property. Some emitted frequencies can be perceived by the human ear, especially when the device is set to the lowest level (slider position to the right). In this case, it is sufficient to slightly increase the frequency with the help of the slider (turn the slider to the left).

Recycling: The device must be recycled; it must not be disposed of with household waste. Please drop it off at a recycling station.

IMPORTANT:
When the device runs on batteries, it happens that the flash no longer works or that the device works continuously. Then it is likely that the charging of the batteries is no longer sufficient. The device is tested with new batteries of good quality, because it is overdue for service.

The life of your ≫ Garden Protector ≪ can be greatly extended if it is protected against driving rain, otherwise the speaker will be destroyed.

Note that the speaker must not be covered, as this will limit the effect completely.
