Good advice on setting up bat sluices and accessories

Step 1: Ensure installer safety
- Make sure you have safe and reliable ladders
- On steep roofs, the person must be protected with a safety net and line piece
- Hoist trucks are important when installing on large commercial buildings or tall residential buildings

Step 2: Find the access point of any kind of bat exhaust
- Conduct a "bat check" to identify entry points.
- "Bat control" should be done when the bats come out to feed at dusk or when they return just before dawn.
- Check during the day that there are no cracks and holes where they can hide or fly into. Check under the chimney, under the roofs, under the roof shelf cap and fascia boards, attic openings, roof openings, etc.

HINT: Look for stains made of grease and urine.

Installation of bat sluice and accessories:

Releasing Individual Locks : First release the lock by rotating the base of the lock cone while holding the remaining bases together.

Securing the sluices : To secure the sluice, use duct tape, 3/8" staples, or 1" screws to attach the bottom of the sluice core to the area around the bat's starting point.

Sealing : Use copper masking, polyfoam, silicone sealant or foam carrier rod to seal.

Fitting : Use nippers or scissors to trim the plastic as needed to fit the affected area.
